Thank you. I was recently gifted one just like the one in your review except the page edges are frayed. I think I'll take this journal a little more serious. Out of curiosity are their any other designs i.e Tree of Knowledge etc.?

Thank you for all your videos! I make my own notebooks that are this size. I use Rhodia paper and museum board for the covers. It’s a lot of fun stitching them up. I recommend if you got the time. Good project.

I have always enjoyed your videos bc you give a fair assessment of different notebooks, and you get right to the point. I hope you’re doing well. Often our habits can wear us down, something we never expect, but they can, and it’s good to take a break, see everything from a new angle, and then replug.

I prefer cheap or I make a weekday pad out of loose laser copier paper lined or unlined or dotted: if needed laser printed before.🙃

I know this is an older video, but the Smythson Panama notebook might work as a replacement for the Moleskine pocket for you. I have had great luck with my Moleskine pocket notebooks and fountain pens but understand that I’m the outlier

I actually prefer the thicker cover of the Rhodias for the stuff I'm using them 😉

Webnotebooks are indestructibles ! But I agree the cover feels thick. Fortunately, Rhodia also make soft cover notebooks where the cover lines up perfectly with the paper. And the pages inside are the same quality we love. 🎉

I enjoy writing on Rhodia paper with fountain pens, but so far I've never tried a Web Notebook. I'm not crazy about the cover for the same reasons you mentioned.

I just bought my Leuchttrum 1917 a week ago, barley used it, been using it as a common place book and I noticed this week that the covers color is starting to peel at the spine. Could this be because I carry it around in my backpack with no cover to stabilize it? Cause my one moleskin journal that I never bring with me and write in at home is the only one of my journals not doing that effect

I have one of these and I love it however pencil is a pain to use with it, you must use pen.

I personally believe the two most ideal or popular sizes are the: 1) A5 2) pocket I personally prefer the pocket size because I can bring it everywhere whenever I go outside, I use it as my EDC. For the A5, I only bring it to work/office or to events or external courses where I have to jot down lots of information for a certain subject or topic. The pocket size (which I use 99% of the time), is usually for my everyday to do tasks/list of activities, and also my catch-all personal space whenever I wanna take a break from social media or usage of mobile phone.

Hi there... You should write with pilot g 2 in 0.7mm or with uniball um-120 in 0.7mm in these moleskine notebooks without any issue and you will love them. Thanks and take care.👍👍👌👌👍👍

Also I’m also done with Moleskine journals lol. This is about your other video. I’ve tried a few times and was frustrated each time and “finished” those books early. Their paper is terrible lol.!! 😂 just don’t. I couldn’t stand it anymore.

I like cream colored paper too but it's hard to find in a pocket notebook. This one might be what I need. Thanks for sharing!

I do really love the yellow legal pads. I journal and also write fiction and they make creating and thinking and writing so inviting and enjoyable. It’s Something about the yellow color!!

Hi from Poland. I use Hobonichi 5 year diary. I’m in the last year. It’s amazing to find what happened that day 2,3,4 years ago. Sometimes nothing interesred happened but there were days that were milestones in my life.

I'm glad your inspiration for journaling has returned. After I watched your video on the Leuchtturm 1917 5 year journal, I picked one up to try out. I'm on my second year using it as a main journal and loving it. It is nice having a small space to write a brief summary of the day or an event, because it helps keep the entry more precise and to the point. If I feel like I have more to say about a day, I can write a longer entry in my second journal. Thank you so much for bringing the Leuchtturm 1917 5 year journal to my attention. Pocket notebooks are great. Carry one with me daily for list, ideas, thoughts, and general journaling. Great video and thanks for sharing!

I almost never leave my house, so I have no need for a pocket notebook that fits in my bag, but I feel like watching other people's journal videos can be very helpful when I am in a journal slump. I love your dark red beat up notebook. It looks so cool. :D

I find that I use a small pocket (A6) notebook a lot, but I do "upgrade" the experience by putting it in a Galen Leather Slim A6 Cover. I also keep a Midori Three-Year journal, which I write in every night. It is pretty effortless, and it keeps me journaling even on days where I have otherwise written very little.

I’ve been using Moleskine for many years and they are still my go to notebook I only use hard cover versions

The Unemployed Philosophers Guild pocket notebooks are 3.5" x 5" and use thread binding, though their covers are a very stiff cardstock.

I think «the ugly» notebook looks just beautiful - and exactly how a well used notebook should look like when finnished with it. I have several Moleskine notebooks, I really don’t care fore bleedthroughs and shadowing. I use fountain pens mostly and I don’t get the complaints about the Moleskine not beeing fountain pen friendly. But I don’t journal, I use them for taking every day notes. The only annoyance is that the elastic strap sometimes don’t hold up. But otherwise it’s a great product in my opinion. Keep up with the great videos! 😊👍🏻
